The Infrastructure Delivery Plan 2020 (IDP) accompanies the Maidstone Borough Local Plan. The IDP identifies the infrastructure schemes considered necessary to support the development proposed in the Local Plan and outlines how and when these will be delivered. The IDP is a 'living document', subject to regular review and therefore will build upon the emerging Local Plan Review.

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a planning charge, introduced by the Planning Act 2008 which came into force on 6 April 2010 through the CIL Regulations 2010. It's a tool we can use to help fund new infrastructure to support the development of the borough. Most new development which creates net additional floor space of 100 square metres or more, or creates a new dwelling, is potentially liable for the levy.
