The Maidstone Local Plan Review was adopted in March 2024, which guides the planning and development of 19,669 new homes, jobs and supporting facilities and infrastructure to be built up to 2038. A proportion of this growth will be accommodated at the three strategic development sites.
The council is preparing three Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) which are important and will provide further guidance to facilitate the delivery of these three sites as set out in the Local Plan Review.
Residents and businesses are being invited to Community Voice Sessions on Thursday 6 March between 3pm and 9pm and Monday 10 March between 11am and 1pm. They will be held in Blacksmith’s Barn, Blacksmith’s Court in Bredhurst, ME7 3JU for people to share their ideas to help shape the planned new development in Lidsing. These sessions are designed for people to drop in and stay for as long or as little as they wish. Comments and feedback received during these sessions will be used to inform the emerging Supplementary Planning Document. For further information, please see our Lidsing website.
The frequently asked questions will be created during the production of the SPDs.
