Heathlands, Lidsing and Invicta Park Barracks - SPDs

Overview

The Maidstone Local Plan Review was adopted in March 2024, which guides the planning and development of 19,669 new homes, jobs and supporting facilities and infrastructure to be built up to 2038. A proportion of this growth will be accommodated at the three strategic development sites.

The council is preparing three Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) which are important and will provide further guidance to facilitate the delivery of these three sites as set out in the Local Plan Review.

Lidsing Garden Community SPD Employment Key Principles/Guidance - Focused Two-Week Consultation

Maidstone Borough Council invited views ONLY on the Employment Key Principles/Guidance, which forms part of the Lidsing Garden Community Draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).

During the review of responses to the recent Lidsing SPD consultation (3 November – 15 December 2025), an error was identified: one page of the online document incorrectly displayed guidance for the Heathlands project instead of Lidsing. To ensure transparency, we are consulting again ONLY on this single corrected page.

Consultation Period: Thursday 15 January to 23:59 Thursday 29 January.

Representations to the consultation can be found on the link here.
